Whoa!! Lots of major reworks on skills!

I like it! It's good to see that Anet has abandoned their stance on a lot of sh*t, and are willing to go back to the drawing board and simply say: "Okay - we make this a totally new skill. The functionality is completely redone!"

Be interesting to see how the Hero AI behaves in actuality. (My Melonni has returned to Leeroy mode when set on aggressive.)

I like some of the Mesmer elite reworks. Lyssa's Aura and Tease in particular. And they added more AoE to the skills as well, which will help in the PvE environment.

Man - lots to absorb! And I need to go back and look at my heroes' bars as well. Some of the Ele changes are - whoa!

It's cool! Kind of like having bought a new campaign, with new skill sets!


I don't understand the OoU change (nerf?) nor the Mirror of Ice change. How does Mirror reflect anything? ::shrug:: Helps Water Ele's. just doesn't fit teh name of teh skill

[Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support] (with the bonus damage) + [intensity] against a lvl 8 Charr Axe Fiend that has [Frenzy] activated... I wonder how that looks like...

And you don't think bringing a ranger without UB and equipped with a mostly useless Elite to DoA combined with the fact that you have to get 5 rangers makes things a bit more difficult?
You will only have 4 UB's btw, if you still plan on bringing the standard 3 monks and the ranger.

EVSS deals physical damage, and Intensity only affects non-physical damage TTBOMK. But feel free to test your theory and report back.

Give the ranger LONG recharge skills to maximize usage of Oath Shot would work.

what was a fun skill to use in PvE Pugs just to piss of the wammo, is now not fun to use in PvE.

And don't forget, now that sliver does some damage again under sf again, the attack speed of the bad guys in hard mode means it is just as fast if not faster in hard mode than in normal so you get all those little extra goodies like gold weapons, rare mats and tomes.

Yes, I'm liking this update very much - may have to start paying more attention to the underworld again.

(I will say this though - I think it will do what ANet wanted and slow the influx of ectos. The farmer still makes a ton of money but not as much from ectos - they drop at same rate in hard as in normal I believe. And there is no way the sliver build can collect them as quickly as the fire/degen builds did. So i still get my cash but the ecto economy is not impacted as much - a benefit all around)

This is a surprisingly good update, nice buffs as well as reworked skills. The EVSS 'lethality' bonus was an interesting touch. I laughed when "Snap. Headshot" appeared in the side chat log after taking out a few Charr. All in all, GJ Anet.

I see the boost of already very powerful PvE skills as ANet again trying to get people to group rather than H/H.

With skills as insanely powerful as Pain Inverter and Sniper Support you're seriously gimping yourself if you bring heroes.

hmm, I was interested if that indeed effected the damage output. And it does seem to with at least the regular damage. Goes from 22/24 damage/sec to 28 or from 90 to 112 on master of damage. So I assumed it would for the head shot damage.

LOL, I also noticed that a readout was posted in the chat when you get that bonus damage.
"Snap!Headshot!"

Wow...I understand the love of buffs, but this is kinda over the top. The change that I'm most surprised about is that to "Save Yourselves!"...it now becomes a skill that is useable by any class (and not just warriors).

By the way, Lyssa's Aura just became incredible energy management for /Mesmer secondaries. Simply amazing.

@Jet - Yeah. To me I find that these buffs are awesome, but they really should be toned down to a reasonable level. I'm enjoying them, but it still doesn't sort out the fact Anet have gone out of their heads in terms of buffs.

They gave the players exactly what they wanted: insanely overpowered skills.

Which, not incidentally, encourage PUGging and penalizes using heroes & hench.

If you're relying on your points in Wilderness Survival to help you cope with your energy issues as a Ranger, might I suggest trying out Expertise?



The update to Signet of Midnight is the most telling. I think Izzy just goes into RA from time to time and bases his ideas of balance from that.
